Maurizio Manzieri

Maurizio Manzieri, an Italian illustrator based in Turin, has been appointed 2021 European Grand Master by the European Science Fiction Society and is currently a finalist for the Hugo Award as Best Professional Artist for the second year in a row. During his decades-long career he has earned numerous awards including two Italia Awards, one Chelsey Award, three Asimov’s Readers’ Awards. Many paintings from his body of work have been periodically selected for the annuals Infected by Art and Spectrum.

His client list includes: Mondadori, MacMillan, Putnam/Berkley, Penny Publications (Asimov’s SF, Analog), The Magazine of F&SF, Infinivox, Subterranean Press, and Centipede Press.

Guest of Honor at numerous festivals in Italy and Switzerland, he has been hired as a Visual Artist for prestigious events such as: Lucca Comics & Games (2014), Fantasy Basel, the Swiss Comic Con (2016), Zurich Game Show (2018, 2019), Cartoons on the Bay, the International Cross-media and Children Television Festival (2019) and EuroCon (2021).
